On Your Feet

Workplace Assistance

As you participate in the Sister 2 Sister program, this is an option for you – our On Your Feet program focusing on helping you get back to work with dignity through this organization.

We are partnering with the nonprofit, The Time Between Is, Inc, for their Balance After Cancer program. The founder, Lisa Vento Nielsen, has this to say about the vision and passion of the program to help survivors get back to “normal” including work:

“My name is Lisa Vento Nielsen and I am a career expert, author, speaker and cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with cancer at 39 years old and the day after my last chemotherapy, I lost my full time job. I figured I would bounce back easily. I was wrong! When I started looking for another full time job, I found myself struggling from my soul to my brain to my heart. I realized that survivorship does not have the resources necessary to navigate this new normal. I created my nonprofit, The Time Between Is, Inc, to empower others who have been told, “You have cancer” find their new “normal” after cancer – from career development to body confidence and more.”
Through Sister-2-Sister, the On Your Feet program offers a needs assessment and may be able to help with:

• Career Pathways• Interviewing Skills
• Managing Stress• Clothing/shoe needs (due to surgery or medication-induced weight gain/loss)

Information about the 2019 Soul Sisters: On Your Feet Conference is coming soon! Like past conferences, it will have sessions to review resumes and offer career guidance for our attendees.

” My mentor was a gift! I am thankful there are people that are willing to stand by your side even after you’re a hard battle, and help you get back on your feet! Going through this program also rebuilt confidence within myself. It has shown me that I am worth more than what cancer said I was! I learned that this organization, Compassion That Compels, is truly a blessing. You guys are my rock I am forever grateful and blessed to have you in my life. “
